Professor Ross Garnaut released his interim report from the Garnaut Climate Change Review in Adelaide today and warns Australia could "possibly be the biggest loser among developed nations". The report also states that Australia’s interest in strong global action stems from its "exceptional sensitivity to climate change", and its "exceptional opportunity to do well in a world of effective global mitigation". "We have many resources and skills that will allow us to convert strong global action into an economic opportunity," Professor Garnaut said. "We have a first-rate skills base in areas related to innovation, management and financial services.
German company to open new plant in Syracuse suburb
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Gov. Eliot Spitzer says a German company that makes compressors for industrial air conditioning and refrigeration equipment will open a new manufacturing facility in suburban Syracuse.
The governor says the Bitzer Scroll plant will employ nearly 300 people in high-end engineering and manufacturing jobs. The plant will open in a former General Motors factory in the town of Salina.
Bitzer officials promise to invest $30 million into the new facility over the next five years.

'There will be 32 currencies to pick from - ranging between the Pound Sterling, US Dollar, and the Euro, to the Turkish Lira, Argentinean Pesos and the Iranian Tomman, among other international currencies. The winner might thus take home a cash prize of the equivalent of Dhs400 or even Dhs750,000,' added Saleh. The details of the raffle were announced through a press conference that was held at the Lexus showroom at Dubai Festival City, a flagship project of the Al Futtaim Group.
